NJIT design/build SP24
Hillier College of Architecture and Design, Newark
Second-Year Undergraduate Studio
In the inaugural year of the second-year design-build program at NJIT, four 'Parklets' destined for Newark's four outer wards were imagined, drawn, and constructed by  students.

During the course of the semester, Ross' studio explored construction systems that were easy to disassemble, transport, and reconfigure for new sites and contexts. The studio learned together through making; many students (having never before used power-tools) bloomed into proficient on-site collaborators.
Utilizing standard 2x4's and a large number of cut-off 2x2's from previous builds, the students came in significantly under-budget for their final design.
